Media Advisory: UNC Wilmington’s Cameron School of Business Sponsors Technology Exchange and Fair March 26

The Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina Wilmington will host the 2009 Wilmington Area IT Professionals Technology Exchange and Fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26 in the Computer Information Systems (CIS) building on the UNCW campus.

The event will bring more than 300 students, faculty and local technology vendors together to demonstrate developing technologies and how they are being integrated into teaching, learning and industry applications. Some of the exhibits will include the latest technologies related to age estimations in facial recognition technology, integrating facial recognition with the Facebook development platform, iPhone application development and UNCW text messaging applications.

This year the event will include roundtable discussions to share recent innovations, problems and solutions. The topics will include: green brings savings to information technology, utilizing technology to reduce costs, security concerns and mobile device development.  The roundtable discussions will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Registration for participants has closed. Members of the media are welcome to attend. Visual opportunities and interviews with faculty will be available.
