100 Future Teachers at UNC Wilmington Learn How to Get a Job April 16

In response to public school budget cuts across the nation, the University of North Carolina Wilmington is giving future teachers the opportunity to learn from the pros — employed teachers in local schools. More than 100 current education students will benefit from roundtables and networking with current teachers at the UNCW Career Services event.WHEN: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2009
WHERE: Education Building room 162
WHAT: Students in small groups will learn firsthand the keys to managing the unique education job market, in which traditional job-hunting techniques often fail. A networking reception will follow.
The UNCW Career Center has increased its extensive services to combat the economic downturn. The Center is currently developing a survey for a national education association that will be used to improve career search outcomes in the education field.
