Health Services Fair for Seniors at No Charge by UNC Wilmington Oct. 15

In spite of the continue recession, senior adults can receive free healthcare screenings and information from University of North Carolina Wilmington nursing students at the Seahawks and Seniors health fair from 10 a.m.- noon, Thursday, Oct. 15 at the New Hanover County Department of Aging Senior Center, 2222 Shipyard Blvd.Media are encouraged to promote this healthy aging fair, which will include services and information that address the national Healthy People 2010 objectives. Topics will include bladder health, nutrition, fall prevention, brain health, emotional wellbeing, osteoporosis and more. Facilitated by UNC Wilmington School of Nursing students, the fair will include demonstrations of assistive technologies for independent living, virtual games, fitness activities and the chance to cut loose with senior adult dance groups.
