Flood Watch Update Nov. 11, 4:30 p.m.; Exercise Caution and Be Prepared for Road Flooding

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch and Wind Advisory for New Hanover County through 5 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, with the Flood Watch extending into Thursday night, as the remnants of Hurricane Ida pass through the area. UNCW classes and events are running on a regular schedule.When traveling to and from campus, be aware of possible hazardous conditions, including flood producing rains and wind gusts of up to 35 mph. Do not attempt to drive through standing waters. Campus roadways that may be impacted by flooding are Reynolds at Cahill Drive, New Centre Drive, Wagoner Drive near Kenan Auditorium and Hurst Drive near Parking Lot K.
Parking lots prone to flooding include Seahawk Landing and Parking Lot E. The Parking Office suggests relocating your vehicle to Parking Lot S or Parking Lot M to avoid problems with flooding.
