Media Advisory: UNC Wilmington to Offer Free H1N1 Vaccination Clinic to Students TODAY; Nursing Students to Assist

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Media are invited to attend and cover an H1N1 vaccination clinic for students at the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. TODAY, Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Burney Center. The Abrons Student Health Center, UNCW Environmental Health & Safety and the School of Nursing are partnering to provide the free vaccination clinic to students.

Due to limited availability of the vaccine, the first clinic will be for students only. Future clinics will be scheduled to include faculty and staff as more doses of vaccine are received. The university is particularly encouraging students 25 years of age or younger to receive the vaccine, as they fall into a high-risk group for the H1N1 virus.

The vaccinations will be administered by the Abrons Student Health Center with assistance from clinical nursing students in the UNCW School of Nursing.
