Seahawks and Friends Unite for UNCW Homecoming 2010, Jan. 29-30

A squawk out to all University of North Carolina Wilmington Seahawks in North Carolina and beyond: join the UNCW Alumni Association for Homecoming 2010 weekend, Jan. 29-30.NOTE: The threat of rain has caused the cancellation of the campus Homecoming Parade scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30.
Alumni and friends are invited to attend UNC Wilmington's homecoming reunions, the Alumni Association Awards program, a TEALgate pregame party, the All Alumni Homecoming celebration and other fun-filled events. Details are below. Media are welcomed to cover homecoming events by request, but they will not be served refreshments at paid events.
2010 Alumni Association Awards program - 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29, Warwick Center Ballroom:
Mayor Bill Saffo '83 will be honored as the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year, Walter Pancoe as the Distinguished Citizen of the Year and Lee Michael Grant '00 as the Young Alumnus of the Year. This event is open to the community; the cost is $25 per person and includes dinner and open bar with wine and beer. Tickets can be purchased until Jan. 27 at www.uncw.edu/homecomingtix, or by calling 1.800.596.2880.

TEALgate pregame party - 4 p.m., Jan. 30, outside Trask Coliseum:
This celebration before the men's basketball game against Towson University is open to the community. Tickets including all you can eat and drink (including beer and wine) and a basketball game ticket are $22 per adult, $14 ages 3-12 and free for three and under. TEALgate admission-only tickets, including all you can eat food and beverages are $12 per adult, $5 age 3-12 and free for 3 and under. TEALgate packages are available at www.uncw.edu/homecomingtix, or by calling 1.800.596.2880. A limited number of TEALgate tickets will be available at the door for an increased fee by cash or check only.
2010 Homecoming Celebration, after the men's basketball game Jan. 30, Burney Center:
This free event is open to all alumni and their families, but attendees are required to register online for complimentary tickets. Food, refreshments and live entertainment will be included.
