Take the First Step toward Global Adventures at UNC Wilmington's Passport Day March 27
Friday, March 19, 2010
Global adventures start with a passport, and UNC Wilmington can help with that. The community is invited to the university's second annual Passport Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 27 in the UNCW Passport Office, located at the back of the Warwick Center. UNCW is one of numerous locations across the country to promote passport regulations and encourage applications during national Passport Day in the USA.No appointments are necessary for UNCW's Passport Day. Passport applicants should bring a state or federally issued photo ID and a certified birth certificate from the county or state in which they were born, a naturalization certificate or a Report of Birth Abroad document. Applicants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by both parents with photo ID.
Since June 1, 2009, U.S. citizens have been required to present a passport book, passport card or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry. Passport Day was established to encourage citizens to apply for their travel documents and have them on-hand before they find themselves in need of them.
All passport fees must be paid by check or money order to the U.S. Department of State. A list of all passport fees can be found at: www.uncw.edu/ba/onecard/passports.htm. A $25 processing fee to UNCW will also be applied. Passport photos are available on-site for an additional $8.62. All university fees and charges can be made payable to UNCW by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard.
Parking is available near the Warwick Center and along Riegel Road.
