UNC Wilmington Presents Variety of Events during Business Week 2010, March 22-25

The University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Cameron School of Business will hold its 28th annual Business Week March 22-25. Designed to help prepare Cameron School of Business students for the realities of the business world, this year’s program will feature more than 100 sessions with prominent alumni and executives sharing their knowledge and experiences in the areas of business, marketing, entrepreneurship, information technology and more.Due to space availability, many events are not open to the public. If they are, that is noted below. Media are invited to attend and cover any of the planned events. Highlighted events include:
Monday, March 22
Gary Hirschberg, CEO of Stonyfield Farm, the world’s leading organic yogurt producer with $300 million in annual sales, will speak as part of the UNCW Leadership Lecture Series, co-sponsored with Business Week. Hirschberg will present “Green Business: The Next Frontier” at 7 p.m. in Kenan Auditorium. Tickets are $9 general public and free for UNCW students, faculty and staff. Tuesday, March 23
Business Week keynote speaker Todd Atwood, vice president of Global Integrated Marketing Communications for Colgate Palmolive Co., will speak at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, in Cameron Hall 105. Previously, Atwood has served as vice president and general manager of innovation for the company’s Latin American Division, and director of personal care products in Europe.
Tuesday, March 23
Alumni and Retired Faculty Mixer, including recognition of 2010 Alumni Honorees, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Computer Information Systems Building atrium. Alumni to be recognized are Livian Jones, Pete Schuhmann and Todd Thibodeaux.
Wednesday, March 24
Alumni Speaker Series Breakfast at 7 a.m. in the Burney Center with guest speaker David Swain
Thursday, March 25
The 2010 Wilmington Information Technology Exchange and Conference (WITX) will bring together area information technology professionals to network, explore the latest technologies and hear from experts on issues in the field, starting at 3 p.m. in the Computer Information Systems building.
