The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) is working on a major water main break on Cornelius Harnett Drive in front of the Sweeney Water Plant. The break is impacting all CFPUA customers, including UNCW. A loss of water and/or pressure is possible throughout the service area. Additionally, all persons are advised to boil water before consumption as a precaution. It is not known how long this situation will continue. We will send an update when the university is advised that boiling drinking water is no longer advised.
