UNC Wilmington to Unveil New Nursing Building to Media Aug. 24 with Tour, Simulation Exercise

Media are invited to attend a special tour and simulation exercise at the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s new Nursing Building at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 24.

The event will include a tour of the building, with particular attention to the large spaces designated for the Simulation Learning Center, in which students learn skills and techniques working with computer-controlled simulation mannequins that mimic human conditions and responses. After the tour, media will have the opportunity to observe a simulation exercise in the Critical Care simulation lab.

Opportunities will also be provided to interview faculty and students about the new building. VISUAL OPPS will include exterior and interior shots of the new building, high-tech simulation mannequins and equipment in the simulation laboratories, and students and faculty engaged in a simulation exercise in the Critical Care lab.

WHAT: Media tour and simulation exercise at UNCW’s new Nursing Building

WHEN: Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 10:30 a.m. Media are asked to arrive at 10:15 as tour will start promptly at 10:30. Tour and simulation exercise will last approximately one hour.

WHO: UNCW Nursing faculty, staff and students will lead the tour, run simulation exercise and be available for questions and interviews

WHERE: Nursing Building, located at corner of Reynolds Drive and Cahill Drive

PARKING: We are making arrangements for parking for media vehicles and will communicate where to park prior to the event.
