Friday, September 10, 2010
UNC Wilmington will conduct a full volume test of the UNCWAlert Seahawk Warning Siren System, emergency text messaging and emergency cable TV interrupt system Monday, Sept. 13 at noon. The test will last approximately 4 to 5 minutes. No action is required when the siren sounds at this time. With the addition of three new sirens this summer, the university now has 100 percent outdoor siren coverage on campus, including Isaac Bear Early College High School and St. James Drive. Depending on weather conditions, the siren sound may be carried for several miles beyond campus.
