Boseman Gallery Transformed into Eco-fashion Show of Student Made Trash-to-treasure
Wednesday, October 20, 2010
Junk to Funk is the latest next exhibit at the University of North Carolina Wilmington Ann Flack Boseman Gallery. Under the direction of student curators, Erin Alemdar and Isabel Heblich, the gallery has been transformed into an eco-fashion show of student made trash-to-treasure couture inspired by No Impact Man, UNCW's common reading program fall 2010 selection. The exhibit celebrates the frivolous world of fashion and the environmental need to reduce our carbon footprint and runs through Nov. 5.
A multimedia gallery highlighting the building and installation of the mannequins is available at www.uncw.edu/marketingcommunications/gallery/2010junk_to_funk/. Additional images may be obtained by contacting Caroline Cropp, croppc@uncw.edu or 910.962.7109.
