More Than 1300 UNCW Students to Make Final "Trek to Trask" Dec. 11 for Commencement
Monday, December 06, 2010
Graduating students will make their last "Trek to Trask" on December 11, 2010 to participate in the University of North Carolina Wilmington's fall commencement ceremony in Trask Coliseum. The commencement will include the first graduates of the Watson School of Education's Educational Leadership and Administration Doctoral (Ed.D.) Program, which prepares superintendents and other educational leaders to guide K-12 schools to excellence. Approximately1069 undergraduate students and 268 graduate students will receive degrees at two ceremonies. Students of the Professional Schools (Cameron School of Business, Watson School of Education, and College of Health and Human Services) will graduate at 9:30 a.m. and students of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences will graduate at 1 p.m. Media should park in Lot A near Hanover Gym and should plan to arrive to ceremonies before they begin to limit disruption. Guests will not need tickets to attend the commencement ceremonies. Guest parking will be available in the lots adjacent to Trask Coliseum and guests with disabilities are encouraged to park in lot K. Carpooling will help to maximize the use of limited parking spaces. The public should avoid all university entrances, as traffic will be heavy. For additional information on commencement, including departmental ceremonies, visit http://www.uncw.edu/commencement.
Media are invited to take advantage of interviews with graduates, especially students of the Ed.D. program. Media must RSVP if they plan to attend commencement.
