The University of North Carolina Wilmington will run on a delayed schedule Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, due to safety precautions related to low temperatures overnight that may refreeze melted snow and ice.

University offices will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday; classes as well as events that begin at 10 a.m. or later will operate on schedule. Classes and events that begin prior to 10 a.m. will NOT meet.

Essential employees should check with their respective supervisors as to their reporting time. UNCW's WAVE Transit buses will begin running at 8:30 a.m. The Adverse Weather Policy is in effect for faculty and staff who may have weather-related difficulties getting to work.

Everyone should use caution when traveling, especially on bridges and overpasses or on roads that are used infrequently and may be icy. Leave extra time for travel as traffic may be moving slowly.
