Animals in Need Helped by UNCW Students Feb. 26

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Student volunteers from the University of North Carolina Wilmington will clean dog kennels, help socialize animals and organize a storage garage at Brunswick County's Paws Place in Winnabow from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 26.

The event is one of several bimonthly UNC Wilmington Saturday Seahawk Surge service opportunities for students. Each unique Surge is chosen and organized by student leaders and facilitated by the UNCW Center for Leadership Education and Service (CLES) office.

Paws Place is a non-profit animal rescue and adoption facility. The organization started in 1999 and operates through donations and volunteers. For more information, visit www.pawsplace.org .
