Commencement 2011: A Record 2,000 to Soar Out of UNCW May 13-14

An estimated 1,800 undergraduate and 285 graduate students will soar into the next phase of their lives at the spring 2011 University of North Carolina Wilmington commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14. The record-setting 2,085 students are expected to graduate.
Media are invited to film or photograph the large-scale commencement setup of Trask on the morning of Monday, May 9 by request.
Scheduled ceremonies:
- 2 p.m., May 13 - Cameron School of Business
- 5:30 p.m., May 13 - Watson School of Education & College of
Health and Human Services
- 9:30 a.m., May 14 - Sciences, Humanities and Graduate Liberal
Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences
- 1 p.m., May 14 - Creative Arts and Social Sciences in the
College of Arts and Sciences
All ceremonies will be held in Trask Coliseum. Media parking for commencement ceremonies will be available in Lot A near Hanover Gym. Reporters should plan to arrive at ceremonies before they begin to limit disruption.
The general public will not need tickets to attend the commencement ceremonies, but guests are encouraged to carpool due to a limited number of parking spaces. Guest parking will be available in the lots adjacent to Trask Coliseum. Guests with a state-issued Handicapped Placard are encouraged to park in Lot K at Wagoner Drive. The public should avoid all university entrances, as traffic will be heavy.
