Oozeball 2011: UNCW Students to Mudsling for a Good Cause April 16

Thursday, April 14, 2011

The 18th annual University of North Carolina Wilmington Oozeball mudslinging extravaganza will have students getting dirty for a good cause 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 at the Gazebo recreation fields near the Student Recreation Center.

Students at the mud volleyball tournament will be "Cruizin' For an Oozin'" to raise funds for the UNC Wilmington Ambassadors. Ninety-six teams of 6-8 players - more than 600 students - will compete for the ultimate Oozeball 2011 title.

Oozeball started in the early 1990s as a fun way for students to come together to relieve stress before final exams, and has since become a long-standing Seahawk tradition. Funds raised through Oozeball registration fees help the Student Ambassadors serve UNCW with events like the campus-wide back to school Lemonade Brigade, community service work and other activities.

Media are invited to cover Oozeball festivities.
