Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Local underserved middle and high school students will learn about the basics of starting a business hands-on as part of the University of North Carolina Wilmington's 2011 Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) July 10-15. On the final day of camp, students will present their business ideas to their parents and judges at a commencement reception. Details are below.

The 40 campers will gain hands-on experience and learn effective techniques for high school and college success with the help of area leaders and UNC Wilmington Cameron Business School (CBS) faculty and students. YEP aims to help campers explore their individual talents through creative, team building and leadership activities.

The camp is at little to no cost to campers, many whose families are faced with financial hardships. Along with gaining such skills as time management and following a budget, student will explore a college campus and meet with staff of UNCW Admissions.
