Seahawks from across the world are invited to travel back home to the University of North Carolina Wilmington for a fun-filled weekend of reunions and events at the annual Family and Alumni Weekend Sept. 23-25.

Throughout the weekend, UNC Wilmington alumni, students, families and friends will come together and reminisce about their college years while experiencing today's campus life. Seahawks of all ages will reunite with old friends and meet new ones while attending events such as alumni reunions, musical performances, and recreation activities including kayaking and the zip-a-thon.

Registration for all events will be available online until Sept. 19 at www.uncw.edu/registerfaw . Key events are listed below.

Friday, Sep. 23:

Music Department Alumni Concert & Reception - 7:30 p.m., Beckwith Recital Hall in the Cultural Arts Building

All Seahawks are invited to come out and enjoy a special evening of music featuring Department of Music alumni. The concert will be followed by a dessert reception in the grand lobby. Tickets are free for students with a valid UNCW ID and are $12.50 for general admission.

Saturday, Sep. 24:

Golden Wing Society Reunion - 10:30 a.m., Madeline Suites

Wilmington College classmates from the classes of 1947-61 are invited for a complimentary brunch and a guided trolley tour of the UNCW campus given by the Student Ambassadors.

UNCW Alumni Day at the Beach - 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Wrightsville Beach

Alumni are invited out for a fun day at Wrightsville Beach, access 36 near Crystal Pier. A complimentary trolley to the beach will be available for all attendees who pre-register. The Alumni Association will be providing complimentary snacks, fun beach games and entertainment from Wilmington musician Sai Collins. Participants are encouraged to bring family and friends.

Legacy Pinning Ceremony - 4 - 5 p.m., Burney Center

Students who have a parent, grandparent or sibling that attends or has attended UNCW are invited to commemorate making UNCW a family tradition at a pinning ceremony. Complimentary family pictures, snacks and refreshments will be included.
