Don't miss your first chance to see the 2011-12 University of North Carolina Wilmington basketball teams play. The annual Midnight Madness event will be held at 9:30 on Friday, Oct. 14 in the newly remodeled Trask Coliseum. The night will mark the first practice games of the men's and women's seasons.

Festivities will tip-off at 8 p.m. with the annual Trask Trek. Lead by players, coaches, and of course Sammy the Seahawk, students will meet at the Village Clubhouse where they will then navigate their way through the campus. Participants can pick up free gifts and prizes at stations along the way. The Trek will stop at the Hoggard Lawn for the coaches' opening speeches, and will then proceed to Trask Coliseum.

Midnite Madness, one of UNCW's long-running spirit events, will include team introductions, dance performances, music, a mascot challenge, cheerleading performances, the UNCW drum line, 3-point shootout, dunk contest and other surprises.

The event will be emceed by FOZ (Z107.5) and Craig Thomas (Sunny 104.5). A Fan Jam social scheduled for 11:30 p.m. on Hoggard Lawn will include free food, music and more.
