Local Startups Have Eight Minutes to Pitch Their Businesses through UNCW Oct. 25
Tuesday, October 25, 2011
Five regional entrepreneurs will compete for the attention of investors with fast-paced, high-energy presentations at the bi-annual University of North Carolina Wilmington Rocket Pitch Event 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the New Hanover County Development Center.
Presenters will have eight minutes to demonstrate their product, explain their business model and provide a growth plan. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions. Since the first UNCW Rocket Pitch event in 2009, more than $5 million dollars in funding has been invested in pitch companies and more than $100,000 in customer/client contracts have been created.
Hosted by the UNCW Entrepreneurship Center, the event is designed to help innovative local companies campaign for investment resources by backers across the region. The pitches will offer UNCW students a glimpse into the world of high-growth startups. Product demonstrations and a reception will follow the event.
Space is limited to 110 people. The community can register early online or by calling 910.962.2237. For more information, visit the Entrepreneurship Center online at http://uncwec.org or http://facebook.com/uncwec.
