Safe Treats for Kids of Area Nonprofits at Annual UNCW Halloween Carnival
Wednesday, October 26, 2011
The annual Halloween Carnival at the University of North Carolina Wilmington will provide safe trick-or-treating for children involved in area nonprofits 5:30 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 in the Warwick Center. The invitation-only event is closed to the general public due to limited space.
Children in costume will enjoy games and activities such as a bag toss, face painting and a haunted house. Multiple student organizations at UNCW volunteer at the carnival by setting up tables, passing out approved candy, and of course dressing up in costumes. Last year more than 200 children and 200 student volunteers participated in the event.
The carnival is sponsored by the UNCW Center for Leadership Education and Service (CLES). For more than a decade the Halloween Carnival has been organized by student leaders and facilitated by the CLES office.
Setup and decorating will begin at 3 p.m.
