Fall Commencement: New Flock of Seahawks to Fly Dec. 17
Wednesday, December 07, 2011
A new flock of Seahawks -- an estimated 1,119 undergraduate, 250 graduate and 9 doctoral students -- will fly out of the University of North Carolina Wilmington at the fall 2011 commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 17.
Two ceremonies will be held in Trask Coliseum: one at 9:30 a.m.
for the professional schools, including Cameron School of Business,
the College of Health and Human Services, and the Watson School of
Education, and another at 1 p.m. for the College of Arts and
Sciences.
Tickets are not required. The doors to Trask Coliseum will open one
hour prior to each ceremony, and seating will be available on a
first come, first-serve basis. Special seating arrangements on the
lower level of Trask Coliseum will be provided for guests who are
physically challenged.
Parking for graduates and guests will be available in Lot K,
adjacent to Trask Coliseum. The public should avoid all university
entrances, as traffic will be heavy.
Media are invited to film or photograph the large-scale
commencement setup of Trask the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 14 by
request. Media parking for commencement ceremonies will be
available in Lot A near Hanover Gym. Reporters should plan to
arrive at ceremonies before they begin to limit disruption.
