When: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11

Where: UNCW Education Building Room 162 & Atrium; park in Lot I or the main level of parking deck at the rear of campus

What: Participants will learn about the legacy of MLK through performances from the UNCW Gospel Choir, a dramatic reading of "I Have a Dream" by actor Ron Dortch and storytelling by the WSE Curriculum Materials Center staff. Face painting will also be available.

Students from schools across New Hanover County will showcase personal essays and artwork focused on the legacy of MLK and their interpretations of "dreams." Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food item or an empty aluminum can to support local families in need. Canned food will be donated to the Good Shepherd Center while empty cans will be submitted to a recycling center to help fund scholarships for youth who attend Watson School enrichment programs.
