Local Students to Show Their Smarts during Regional Science Fair at UNC Wilmington Feb. 11

Nearly 200 students in grades three through 12 will share their science innovations at the annual Southeast Regional Science Fair (SERSF) on Saturday, Feb. 11 in the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Hanover Gym.
Media are encouraged to cover the event during the public viewing period from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. and the awards program at 2:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and judging will begin at 9:15 a.m.
Participating students are the winners of 13 different county public and private school science fair competitions. Winning projects recommended by SERSF judges will advance to the North Carolina Science & Engineering Fair in March at Meredith College in Raleigh.
SERSF is hosted by the UNC Wilmington Center for Education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (CESTEM). CESTEM is dedicated to improving the quality of pre-college science, technology engineering and mathematics education in order to encourage student interest and knowledge in these areas.
