Valentine's Day is arriving early this year with the University of North Carolina Wilmington's 18th annual Young at Heart Social from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 in the Burney Center. More than 100 senior adults from the surrounding area will dance and socialize with more than 200 student volunteers.

Seniors are invited to dance the night away to fun musical numbers performed by Dusty Long Band at this free public event. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in semiformal attire. Refreshments will be served and all attendees will have a chance to take home a Valentine's Day photo taken in the Young at Heart photo booth.

The event is hosted by the UNCW Center for Leadership Education and Service (CLES). Seniors are asked, but not required, to RSVP for this event by calling 910.962.3877. Visitor parking will be available in lot M located near the intersection of Price Dr. and Riegel Rd. Student volunteers will help escort seniors from their vehicles.

Media are encouraged to cover the event, and are invited to go live when decorating begins at 4:45 p.m. Local seniors and UNCW student volunteers will be available for interviews.
