Wilmington, N.C. - Innovative entrepreneurs from Southeastern North Carolina plan to present their ideas to potential investors during the UNCW Entrepreneurship Center's Rocket Pitch event, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Oct. 10, at the Burney Center on campus.

Five industries will be represented at the event: natural skin care, tourism and recreation, hospitality, identity verification, and film.  Each company has the opportunity to propose an eight-minute "rocket pitch" about their business with the intention of gaining secure funding to carry out their venture.  The event is open to the entrepreneurial and business community through online registration.

Since the Rocket Pitch event started in 2009, more than 32 companies have proudly pitched their creative ideas and turned them into significant investments. Ventures within those companies equate to about $5.2 million dollars over the past three years.

The mission of the UNCW Entrepreneurship Center is to be a catalyst for entrepreneurial growth in Southeastern North Carolina by linking together emerging and high-growth ventures, entrepreneurs, and relevant support organizations to stimulate innovation, business growth and jobs.
