Important Details on Investment Changes to the NC 401(k) and NC 457 Plans
In the coming week, members of the NC 401(k) and NC 457 Plans will receive a detailed communication regarding the specific changes to the investment lineup and the GoalMaker program. Please review the member letter and fund fact sheet thoroughly.
Investment Lineup Update:
• New Fund Offered: The North Carolina Inflation Responsive Fund will be added to the investment lineup.
GoalMaker Model Portfolio Updates:
• New Fund Offered in GoalMaker Portfolios: The North Carolina Inflation Responsive Fund will be added as an investment in the GoalMaker program.
• Two Funds Removed from GoalMaker Portfolios: The North Carolina Small/Mid Cap Index Fund and the North Carolina International Index Fund will be removed from the existing GoalMaker model portfolios, as part of a move toward a more actively managed fund strategy. The Small/Mid Cap Index Fund and International Index Fund will remain available as stand-alone investment options in the NC 401(k) and NC 457 Plans.
Due to the GoalMaker program update, there will be a blackout period starting at 4 p.m. Eastern Time on Sept. 13, 2013 and lasting approximately 15 business days. During the blackout period, members who participate in GoalMaker will be temporarily unable to transfer a portion of their assets out of the GoalMaker program to another set of Fund investment options. Members will continue to have access to all their funds should need arise for a loan, a withdrawal or a roll-over.
