Visiting Writer Jason Mott to Read Oct. 3

Jason Mott, alumnus of the University of North Carolina Wilmington, will read at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3 in McNeill Hall 1005.

Jason Mott’s debut novel, The Returned, was released in August. The book was optioned by actor Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, as a television series and will premiere on ABC on March 9, 2014 under the title Resurrection. Mott also authored two poetry collections: …Hide Behind Me… (2011) and We Call This Thing Between Us Love (2009).

Mott has a BFA in fiction and an MFA in poetry, both from UNCW. His poetry and fiction have appeared in various journals including Prick of the Spindle, the Thomas Wolfe Review, The Kakalak Anthology of Carolina Poets, Measure and Chautauqua. He was nominated for a 2009 Pushcart Prize award, and Entertainment Weekly listed him as one of ten “New Hollywood: Next Wave” people to watch.
