UNCW Presents Arts in Action Performance Series hosts radio theatre, L.A. Theatre Works, bringing their unique take on the classic tale The Graduate to UNCW on at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30 in Kenan Auditorium. A biting satire, the play centers on Benjamin Braddock (Brian Tichnell of HBO’s The Newsroom), a recent college graduate who finds himself directionless in the shifting social and sexual values of the 1960s. This tour is in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the novel, The Graduate.
With headline actors Heidi Dippold (HBO’s The Sopranos) as Mrs. Robinson, Tom Virtue (Iron Man 3, Even Stevens) as Mr. Braddock and live Foley sound effect artists, L.A. Theatre Works has been featured on NPR and is the foremost radio theatre in the country. L.A. Theatre Works creates a cutting-edge contemporary spin on The Graduate’s classic tale with innovative sets and costumes. A question and answer session will be held for all audience members directly following the performance.
