The UNCW Women's Studies and Resource Center invites the campus community and members of the public to the following two events:
“The Feminine Mystique at 50,” a book discussion with English faculty member Katherine Montwieler will take place from 12 -1:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the Sunset Beach Room (1025) FSC. Fifty years ago Betty Friedan’s The Feminine Mystique hit the shelves, bringing second-wave feminism to the national spotlight, sparking women to rethink traditional gender roles.
Join Priscilla Freeman Jacobs and anthropology faculty member Patricia Barker Lerch for a discussion of From Princess to Chief: Life with the Waccamaw Siouan Indians of North Carolina, at 4 p.m. on Oct. 23 in Randall Library Auditiorium. Light refreshments will be served.
