UNCW to Celebrate Social Work Month

Thursday, February 27, 2014

Celebrated each March, Social Work Month is an opportunity to spotlight the profession and highlight the important contributions the field makes to society. This year’s official theme is "All People Matter.” In observance, the UNCW School of Social Work and CHHS Globalization, Culture and Diversity Committee are sponsoring presentations from Dennis Gardin, a burn survivor and leader of a statewide organization; Iris Carlton-Laney, discussing her research on African Americans aging in the rural south and Lynn Cossman, discussing her research showing a persistent (60+ year) pattern of high and low mortality areas in the US.

All events are free and will be held in McNeill Hall room 1051. See http://uncw.edu/swk/documents/SWMonthFlier2014final022414.pdf for additional details.
