Career Center’s Wright Receives Award from State Association

Leslie Wright, assistant director of the UNCW Career Center, was presented the Outstanding Professional Award 2014 by the North Carolina Association of Colleges and Employers (NCACE) at their recent conference. The award honors a recipient who has demonstrated exemplary leadership in post-secondary career services.
Wright has served on a number of leadership positions within NCACE, working with professional development, annual conference programming and planning and the executive board. “Being a member of the NCACE family has been a huge part of my professional and personal growth over the years,” she says. “To be honored by such and amazing group of people is both humbling and inspiring.”
A staff member in the Career Center since 2002, Wright serves as a liaison to the Cameron School of Business and the department of computer science. She coaches and advises students and alumni with career decision making and transition, works with faculty and administrators and coordinates accountancy intern recruitment activities.
She earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Old Dominion University.
