The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has announced that Next Glass will be one of the eighteen-featured companies at this year’s CED Tech Venture Conference in Raleigh. With offices at UNCW’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and lab space at the university’s MARBIONC facilities, Next Glass has quickly grown to be one of Wilmington’s most recognizable tech companies. Wilmington’s nCino has also been selected to participate in the showcase.

“We are very proud of the Wilmington entrepreneurs who were chosen for the CED Tech Venture Conference, the oldest and largest venture capital conference in the Southeastern region,” said CIE Executive Director Jim Roberts. "The CED is a model for entrepreneurial organizations with a 30-year history of supporting a culture that builds generations of business innovators. Having companies from our area participate will help continue to raise Wilmington’s profile in the entrepreneurial world and continue strengthening the area’s economic climate.”

Representing North Carolina’s hottest emerging technology companies, this year’s conference is themed “On the Rise.” NextGlass, nCino and other showcase companies will have an opportunity to present in front of 600 attendees, some of whom are the most influential investors and tech leaders in the country.

Wilmington’s EasyVote and WaterPlay USA will participate in the conference’s Demo Room, where they will be able to demonstrate their product and technologies.

A selection committee made up of community members, active angel investors, venture capital firms, corporate partners, staff from the CED and the North Carolina Technology Association participate on the CED’s selection committee.

The conference will be held on September 16 and 17 at the Raleigh Convention Center.
