Music by Mussorgsky, Debussy & Liszt
Norman Bemelmans | piano

Tuesday, April 2, 2013
8 pm, Kenan Auditorium

Resident pianist Norman Bemelmans explores the rich connection between visual and performing arts with a program featuring the epic suite Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky, inspired by the works of artist and architect Viktor Hartmann. The evening also includes a selection of works by Franz Liszt and Impressionist tone paintings by one of the most evocative of musical colorists Claude Debussy.

An active recitalist in both the US and Europe, Bemelmans has toured professionally under the sponsorship of Pobitzer Artists International and the Franz Liszt Foundation. His most recent tours of Europe featured works by Franz Liszt and Frederic Chopin - composers for which he has received wide critical acclaim.
