Historical Info: |
- UNCW's first parking deck opened in conjunction with
Seahawk Crossing (Phase III of the privatized student housing
program).
- The parking deck's regionally produced materials, electric
hook-ups for hybrid cars and other features helped the
Seahawk Crossing complex earn Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S.
Green Building Council. The LEED rating system is the nationally
accepted standard for design, construction and operation
of green buildings. Seahawk Crossing is the first LEED
certified project at UNCW, reaching the "Silver" level of LEED certification.
