The quickest and easiest method of payment is made online via E-bill. Mastercard and Visa credit/debit cards are accepted as well as online checks from a checking or savings account. Invalid account numbers entered in online payment methods will be charged a return check fee charge of $25.00. Please be sure you enter your account numbers correctly. Payments made through the E-bill system are posted immediately to the students account. Cash or check payments can be made at the Cashier's window in the Warwick Center. Due to increasing risks associated with credit cards, these payments cannot be accepted over the telephone or in the Cashier's office.. There is a student computer station set up outside of the Cashier's office for the student to make credit card payments.
UNCW has a payment plan option set up through Sallie Mae Tuition Payment Plan which allows parents/students to make monthly payments rather than pay all at once. For more information please visit our Sallie Mae Web Page.
The Student Accounts Office uses e-mail to contact any student with a balance. The student may also set up reminders and be reminded as well through the E-bill system. It is the students responsibility to check their UNCW e-mail on a regular basis to prevent any problems with their account.
The Previously Billed Balance equals your total charges less total payments before the transactions itemized on your current bill.
Please confirm on SeaNet the accepted financial aid will pay your full balance due. If your aid is sufficient (enough to cover your balance) you do not have to do anything with your bill. (Classes will NOT be dropped, no registration holds, etc,.) If your aid is NOT sufficient, you will be responsible to pay any amount not covered by your financial aid. If your aid has not been approved/authorized, you will need to pay in full by the due date. If financial aid is awarded later, a refund is sent to the checking or savings account that you have set up in the E-bill system.
If a FAFSA has been completed & you listed UNCW's school code 002984 on the FAFSA, then UNCW processed financial aid for you. The Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid office applies the awarded amounts toward your account. It is up to you to contact the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid to let them know you do not want to receive the awarded amounts.
Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid or you may contact them at 910-962-3177.
You must contact the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid. If your financial aid is not posted on your bill there is a reason why it is not. You must contact the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid office because they will have all of the documentation regarding your loans, grants or scholarships. (910-962-3177)
All student refunds will be distributed via E-bill. Please be sure your permanent address is valid and that you have set up a payment profile with the preference of having refunds issued to it. In the event that you do not set a profile up a check will be issued. Checks may only be picked up on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. there will be no exceptions made.
Changes to the charges on my student account
Payment is required for the current account balance. A refund will be issued to the student E-refund account if any changes to the charges have been made by the responsible department.
If classes have been cancelled for non-payment and the student re-registers after the drop/add period; a late registration fee of $75.00 will be charged to the student account.
Registration and Billing Schedule:
Note: If classes are full when the student tries to register, the student can contact their professors to try and get added back in the class, or show up the first day of class to see if the professor will add them to the class.
After the end of the drop/add period for a term, the student must complete a re-instatement form and bring it to the Cashier’s Office with payment for the total of the classes that were cancelled along with a $75 penalty charge. The students must then take the signed re-instatement form from the Cashier’s Office to the Registrar's Office to officially have class(es) re-instated.
After cancellation of classes for regular registration for a term, the student will need to report to the Dean's Office for any consideration and will be handled on a case-by-case basis with regard to the status of payment or financial aid. Should the student be allowed to re-register, a $75.00 penalty will be assessed by Student Accounts.
These fees are determined by the UNCW Board of Govenors and are applied to all registered students. Please view the Tuition and Fees rate Schedule for the allocation breakdown.
If a residency appeal decision has not been reached by the due date it is the students responsibility to pay the full out-of state tuition amount to avoid class cancellation. If the student is later granted in-state residency a refund will be issued to the E-refund account. All questions regarding residency should be directed to the Admissions department.
Complete withdrawals processed after the drop/add period listed in our Registration and Billing Schedule, will be refunded according to the Tuition Refund Schedule.
If you are dropping a course prior to the end of the drop/add period and you have paid your tuition, then a refund will be generated. Students dropping courses after the end of the drop/add period will not be refunded.
Please note: Tuition refunds are not available after the end of drop/add for the Summer months.

PAPER BILLS ELIMINATED
All students with an outstanding balance will recieve an e-mail notification to their University e-mail account stating that their E-bill is available online to view and print. Currently enrolled students that have a balance due (shown as "Pay this amount" on the E-bill) will receive an e-mail notice from Studentaccounts@uncw.edu that an E-bill is available for viewing. When you recieve the notice, you can access your bill via the SeaNet portal. You are responsible for checking your e-mail for your electronic bill notification and for making your payment on time.
- Enter SeaNet/E-Bill - https://ebill.uncw.edu/C20231_tsa/web/login.jsp
- In the Quick View Section on the opening E-bill screen select ‘Create A Refund Profile’
- If you have already entered a checking or savings account ‘Payment Profile’ select the checking or savings account where the refund is to be deposited. Click the checkbox that says “Refund Option – please check here if you would like refunds to be deposited into this account.” Finished.
- If you have NOT already entered a checking or savings Payment Profile enter your bank account information and click the checkbox that says “Refund Option – please check here if you would like refunds to be deposited into this account.” Finished.
Note: Refund accounts will only be used for refunds. Student Accounts will not use this account for payments unless it is initiated by the student or authorized user.
Note: The refunds are direct deposited into the checking or savings account that is
specified.
ALL students are strongly encouraged to use E-refund as it is safe, easy, and the fastest way to get your refund. Students that do not set up an E-refund profile will eventually be issued a paper check which must be picked up during specific hours at the Cashier’s Office. Paper check refunds will be processed after all E-refunds, so delays should be expected.
Refunds will be directly deposited into the checking or savings account that is setup in E-bill. Bank account numbers must be entered during the E-refund setup process. Refunds cannot be sent to credit or debit cards even if the refund is the result of an overpayment using your credit or debit card.
UNC Wilmington will no longer be affiliated with HigherOne. The student can continue to use the Higher One account as a normal bank account and can thus continue to use this account to make E-bill payments. All banking questions related to a student’s HigherOne account should be made directly to HigherOne at 866-309-7454. Refunds will not be issued directly to the HigherOne card as it is considered a debit/credit card.
Only students have the option to setup the E-refund account. However, parents and students should coordinate whether the refund should go to the student or parent and setup the appropriate bank account in E-bill. E-refunds will be sent to the bank account setup in E-bill regardless of the name on the account.
