  • Campus Safety Q & A
  • The purpose of the Investigations Division is to conduct follow up investigations of reported crimes and to provide expert insight to matters of crime prevention, substance abuse, sexual assault and other areas of concern to the community. The staff of the division is committed to the safety and security of the University community and is dedicated to assisting and providing support to crime victims. It is the hope of the Division that these efforts are successful in the prevention of crime, the recovery of lost property, the identification of persons responsible for crimes, and successful prosecution of those persons to bring cases to a logical conclusion. The division manages all complex and major investigations conducted by the University Police Department and members serve on various committees in and around the Wilmington area that respond to the needs of the community.

This division cooperates with local, state, and federal agencies in the conduct of investigations and has access to the resources of these agencies for needed technical and logistic support in the management of investigations.

The University Police Department hopes you never have need of the services provided by the Investigations Division, in the event you do, you can rest assured knowing that experienced and proven professionals will respond.
