On behalf of the men and women of the University
Police Department, I welcome you to our Web site and encourage
you to explore it. As you familiarize yourself with the University
Police Department you will recognize that this department
is responsible for providing police and security services
to the university community. These services include programs
such as Operation I.D. and RAD (self-defense for women) that
provide information and techniques that, if properly applied,
can significantly reduce the chances of becoming a victim
of crime. Other services, including PAC'N and Bike Patrol,
are designed to provide additional opportunities for personnel
of the police department to interact with members of the community
in an effort to solve problems and prevent crimes. The University
Police Department operates 24 hours a day each day of the
year and is the point of origin for all emergency services,
as well as a variety of university services after normal business
hours. My commitment to you is to provide a professional police
department staffed and equipped to serve this community. In
return, I ask that you consider what you can do to protect
yourself and your property.
