The Patrol Division is the largest and most
visible division of the University Police Department. Staffed
by 10 police officers, 4 Lieutenants, and 4 bike patrol officers,
the Patrol Division operates 24 hours a day, seven days a
week patrolling university property in patrol vehicles and
on foot. One of the primary responsibilities of the Patrol
Division is conducting high-visibility patrol, serving as a
deterrent to criminal activity and remaining accessible to
members of the community for service functions such as jumpstarting/unlocking
cars, security checks, and escorts. Patrol vehicles are equipped
with countywide radio communication systems, Mobile Data Terminals,
RADAR, and video recording systems.
