A weather radio is a useful tool to have both in the office and at home and can provide immediate notification and warning of a severe weather event. A S.A.M.E. (Specific Area Messaging Encoding) weather radio can give you instant notification of a weather emergency in New Hanover County. There are several weather radios located on the UNCW campus. Departments and offices are encouraged to purchase additional weather radios to further enhance severe weather preparedness at UNCW.
