John A. “Sandy” McNeill Jr. was appointed to the UNCW Board of Trustees by the governor to a second term ending in 2011. McNeill serves as chair of the board, the Educational Planning and Programs Committee and the Executive Committee.

McNeill, who lives in Whiteville, is chief executive officer of Liberty Healthcare Services, LLC. He is also a board member for Pharmaceutical Product Development.

McNeill received his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the UNC Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy board of visitors and the Pharmacy Foundation of North Carolina.

In addition to his professional affiliations, McNeill is active in the community. He is president of the Cape Fear Council of Boy Scouts of America and a member of Whiteville United Methodist Church.
