What is Parks & Recreation?

Parks and Recreation Management prepares professionals for rewarding positions in the exciting and rapidly growing field of parks, recreation and leisure services. It's about planning, organizing, and facilitating challenging and satisfying leisure service programs to meet the needs of an ever-changing population.

At UNCW, the curriculum in Parks and Recreation Management prepares students for employment in a diversity of leisure service or travel and tourism delivery settings and for graduate study, and is NRPA/AALR accredited in Leisure Service Management. Within the Parks and Recreation Curriculum, there are two areas of concentration in which a Bachelor of Arts Degree can be obtained: Travel and Commercial Recreation, and Public and Non-Profit Recreation.
