Students in the College of Arts and Sciences at UNCW have access to a highly qualified, nationally and internationally educated faculty who seek to engage students in teaching, research and service, offering students a complete student experience and the discovery of intellectual excitement inherent to the life of the mind.

  • Professors in the College of Arts and Sciences teach 98% of non-lab courses
  • Few campus classrooms accomodate more than 70 students—most are limited to 20 and 40 seats—and modes of instruction go well beyond the lecture to engage students actively in creative activities designed to promote learning, either singly or in groups
