The vice chancellor for information technology and associate provost is responsible for developing and facilitating technology-supported change management processes for the university and overseeing the delivery of information technology services. The position reports directly to the chancellor and, together with other vice chancellors, functions as a member of the executive cabinet and the University Quality and Planning Council.

Responsibilities:

• Assess the university's ability to meet and extend the capacities of students to utilize information technologies.
• Establish technical support systems to aid faculty in the design, development, and delivery of high quality Web-based courses.
• Develop, implement and monitor standards to ensure programmatic coherence and quality in information technology services.
• Define organizational structures and processes necessary to coordinate and align technology resources and services.
• Identify incentives to stimulate and focus the use of information technologies in all aspects of campus operations including academics, business affairs, student services and enrollment affairs.
• Integrate and manage all current information technology infrastructure and resources at UNCW including divisional computer resources, student computer labs, campus ethernet, academic computing, management information support, telecommunications and information technology.

The position supervises the associate vice chancellor of ITSD, director of computing services, director of application services, director of audio/visual media services, director of client services, director of telecommunications and the office of Web management.
