No food or drinks are allowed at the computers.
Do not change any of the software settings used on the computers. This includes such things as colors, patterns, backgrounds, and options. Changing these settings can interfere with the normal operation of the computer and is considered vandalism. Do not load any programs on the computers unless specifically authorized to do so.
Once a computer is turned on, leave it on. It will be reset at the end of each day.
Do not leave important data files on the hard drives of the computers in the lab. All data that are not part of the standard image are deleted at the end of the day when the computers are reset.
Keep the lab clean and tidy. Put things back when you are finished with them, including keyboards, mice, and chairs, and leave the computers as you would want to find them. Do not move the computers around.
Only students currently enrolled in one or more chemistry courses normally have access to the computer lab. Students working on chemistry assignments have first priority for using the equipment. If no one is waiting, you may use the computers for non-chemistry work but must relinquish the machine if someone has higher priority work to do.
Do not download software from the Internet onto the computers in the lab unless authorized to do so.
There is an iPrint printing station in the lab. Printing is charged to your UNCW OneCard account.
Report any problems you encounter with equipment, software or individuals in
the
lab to:
a) any student assistant in the lab, or
b) Dr. James Reeves (3456), or
c) Dr. Charles Ward (3216).
