Setting Up Your MasteringChemistry Account for CHM-101

 1.      Obtain an access code for MasteringChemistry. If you purchased the textbook package from the bookstore, the access code
       will be with the book. The access code can also be purchased separately. Your access code is good for 24 months and can be used in CHM-102.

2.      Open your Web browser and go to http://www.masteringchemistry.com 

3.      Click on the “New Students” button. 

4.      Click on the “Yes, I have an access code” option and then click “Continue”. 

5.      Click the “I Accept” button on the License Agreement page. 

6.      Respond by clicking on “No” to the “Do you have a Pearson Education Account?” question. This will bring up boxes for entering a login name and password. 

7.      For your login name, use your UNCW e-mail address (e.g. abc1234@uncw.edu). 

8.      For your password, use your UNCW e-mail password. The password must be at least 8 characters and must contain only letters and numbers. At least one character must be a number. 

9.      Type in the access code you purchased. 

10.  Use the following information to complete the required fields on the Account Information page: 

a.       Use your real name when asked for your first and last name.

b.      Use your UNCW e-mail address when asked for your e-mail address.

c.       Select “United States” for School Country.

d.      Type in “28403” for the School Zip Code.

e.       Select “UNIV OF NC – WILMINGTON” for School Name.

f.       Use your UNCW Student I.D. number when asked for “Student I.D.”.

g.      Select the appropriate Course I.D. from the list below when requested. You must select the course ID that corresponds to the course in which you are enrolled. (The Course I.D. is in all-caps.)
