Assistant Dean for Student Success Selected for Leadership North Carolina and Wilmington Programs

Sheri Shaw, assistant dean for student success, has been selected to be a part of Leadership Wilmington over the course of the next academic year.

Leadership Wilmington is a 10-month-long program designed to educate, challenge and motivate leaders and future leaders to use their skills to enhance the community. Sheri will attend a retreat at the beginning of the program and the class will meet one full day each month, September through April 2018. Each of the sessions will focus on a different aspect of the community, such as government, public safety, infrastructure, economic development, arts and culture, and education. Additionally, she will work with others to complete a class project called “Work on Wilmington,” a hands-on event that provides class members an opportunity to put their leadership, decision-making and teamwork skills to work.

In addition to Leadership Wilmington, Sheri has been selected to be a part of the Leadership North Carolina XXV Class. Leadership North Carolina works with state luminaries to improve the quality of life in North Carolina “through visionary hands-on programming that integrates the areas of economic development, education, environment, government and health and human services.”

Sheri will participate in six two-and-a-half-day sessions held in locations from the mountains to the beach.
