The 2nd Biennial Integrated Marketing Communication Conference, hosted by the Department of Communication Studies at UNCW, will be held from June 6-8, 2013. This year’s theme is “IMC and the Polis,” which connects the study, teaching, and practice of IMC to lived experience in the public sphere.
Wilmington is situated between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean in southeastern North Carolina. Our nickname is “the Port City” and much of our history is tied to our geographic location. UNCW’s campus is 15 minutes away from historic downtown Wilmington to the west and Wrightsville Beach to the east.
The Call for Papers and Panels deadline is Friday, February 1, 2013 and we encourage undergraduates to think about submitting their poster abstracts to our competitive Undergraduate Poster Session.
About the logo:
The conference logo, designed by UNCW COM Studies major Laurel Smith, is an Ionic column that reflects both ancient Greece and the metaphor of the polis and the modified Georgian architecture of UNCW’s campus. At the bottom of the logo are the waves of the Atlantic Ocean in UNCW’s colors of teal, blue, gold, representing UNCW’s place as North Carolina’s coastal university.
