Professor David M. Bollinger received his B.A. in communication studies from UNC Wilmington, after transferring from UNC Chapel Hill. He received his M.A. in speech communication with a concentration in theory and research from UNC Greensboro. He teaches courses in rhetorical and communication theory, business communication, and health communication. At other times he has taught interpersonal communication, mass media, communication ethics, politics and film, and debate. He received the Discere Aude Outstanding Faculty Award in 2011. He served as the faculty advisor to the honors society for the department, Lambda Pi Eta, from its inception in 2003 to 2011. He has also served as a delegate from the faculty senate to the UNC faculty general assembly. Other service includes the campus judicial board, UNCW athletic council, chair of the faculty senate university advancement committee, and the admissions appeals committee. He has been a member of the faculty at UNCW since 1998.
